About Compassionate Therapy Practice

At Compassionate Therapy Practice, therapy begins with the understanding that we’re all shaped by our experiences, and that healing happens when we’re met with warmth, not judgment.

My name is Chenelle Owen. I’m an accredited Psychological Therapist (BABCP) with specialist training in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and trauma-focused approaches. I work with children, young people, and adults, offering a space where distress is held with care and compassion.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, perfectionism, shame, trauma, or simply feeling stuck, this is a space to slow down, to be heard, and to begin making sense of things. I offer therapy that is evidence based, collaborative, and always tailored to you.

My approach is rooted in compassion because I believe meaningful change happens when we feel safe enough to face our struggles and supported enough to grow beyond them. It’s my role to walk alongside you, gently and respectfully, at your pace.

If therapy feels daunting, you’re not alone. I’m here to help make it feel a little more possible.

Training and Experience
I’m an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (registered with the BABCP), with additional specialist training in Compassion Focused Therapy and trauma-focused approaches.
My background includes working across NHS services, CAMHS, the charity sector, and private practice, supporting children, young people, and adults through a wide range of difficulties.
I'm currently training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and offer reduced-rate sessions as part of this training pathway.
I’m committed to continually developing my practice to ensure therapy is grounded in compassion, research, and a deep respect for each person’s lived experience.
